A gaze-based interactive system to explore artwork imagery

Abstract Interactive and immersive technologies can significantly enhance the fruition of museums exhibits. Several studies have proved that multimedia installations attract visitors, presenting cultural scientific information in an appealing way. In this article, we present our workflow for achieving a gaze-based interaction with artwork imagery. We designed both tool creating interactive “gaze-aware” images eye tracking application conceived to interact those gaze. Users display different pictures, perform pan zoom operations, search regions interest associated content (text, image, audio, or video). Besides being assistive technology motor impaired people (like most applications), solution also be valid alternative common touch screen panels museums, accordance new safety guidelines imposed by COVID-19 pandemic. Experiments carried out panel volunteer testers shown is usable, effective, easy learn.
